2nd Weekend of Samu

The Zendo is beginning to take shape as we literally frame out the walls. If you haven’t seen the old printing room where the Zendo will be, it’s hard to picture just what an expansion this space is! Last weekend, we framed half of perimeter of the space and carved out a closet for meditation and yoga supplies.

We marked off where all the altars will be placed. There will even be a beautiful nook for the Founder’s Altar, and a small room with a sink where our dedicated Sangha member, Hoen Donna Kalebich, can craft her beautiful altar flower arrangements for the temple.

Sensei and I are humbled by our wonderful volunteers. In addition to confirming the old adage “many hands make light work,” it’s also just a beautiful form of practice to work together. When we care for the temple, we care for each other.
