3rd Weekend of Samu
The walls are framed, old fluorescent fixtures are removed, the upper ceiling is painted, and a temporary altar with Ganesh, Remover of Obstacles, is placed in the Zendo. Even without the actual walls up, you can see the shape of the space and it’s incredible. It still feels large, but not cavernous like it did before.
Although David’s Clubhouse is just on the other side of the hallway from the Zendo, there’s no noise bleeding between the two spaces. Neither construction sounds making their way into the Clubhouse or the delightful sounds of kids playing wildly making it into the Zendo. It seemed crazy to have an indoor playground in the same space as a meditation center, but it’s working.
Next phase for our final Summer Weekend of Samu: ceiling joists and adventures in drywall!
