"When they are not sound, the spirit is troubled;
What is the use of being partial and one-sided then?
If you want to walk the course of the One Vehicle,
Be not prejudiced against the six sense-objects."
When your thoughts are tied to the narrative of the discursive mind that is given to picking and choosing, they become heavier and dull and collapse under their own weight. This is troublesome for the spirit, as feels as if it has lost its way. In this place of one-sidedness, we lose sight of the interconnectedness of the One. Here, we sense scarcity and lack.
The Six Sense Objects: sounds, sights, smells, tastes, objects of touch, and thoughts - are not something to be prejudiced against. Rather than developing an attitude of discrimination towards what is coming up and labeling it as "good" or "bad", and thus cleaving it from the Bodhisattva path of the Mahayana - be present with it.
