"Song of the Grass Roof Hermitage" is a classic Zen Buddhist text written by the Chinese poet-monk Sekito Kisen (700-790 CE). In this captivating poem, Sekito explores the essence of Zen practice and offers profound insights into the nature of reality and self-realization.
In this class, we will delve into the rich symbolism and poetic imagery of "Song of the Grass Roof Hermitage" while mining its true spiritual significance. Through close reading and guided discussions, we will explore the central themes of impermanence, emptiness, and the suchness of all things.
By engaging with "Song of the Grass Roof Hermitage," participants will develop a greater appreciation for Zen teachings and cultivate a more profound and intimate understanding of their own lived experience. Whether you are new to Zen Buddhism or already have a background in practice, this class offers an opportunity for introspection, reflection, and spiritual growth.
