At One River Zen, we are dedicated to embodying the principle of compassion in all our actions. To extend our care beyond the meditation cushion and into the community, we have established the Karuna Cabinet. This micropantry offers non-perishable food items and essential supplies, accessible 24/7 to those in need.

The Karuna Cabinet is a testament to the spirit of karuna, or compassion, encouraging a culture of 'take what you need, leave what you can'. Located at 121 E Prospect Avenue in Ottawa, IL, it is a place where generosity meets necessity, managed by our community volunteers.

We welcome everyone, whether to find aid in times of need or to contribute to the well-being of others. The Karuna Pantry is a bridge connecting our Sangha with the wider community, fostering mutual support and understanding.
