Entering Stillness | Weekend Zen Meditation Retreat
December 4–6, 2026
As the year moves toward winter and the world outside grows quieter, we enter a weekend devoted to the simple practice of becoming still enough to meet our lives completely.
So much of our attention is pulled outward. We move from task to task, conversation to conversation, thought to thought, rarely noticing how much momentum we carry with us.
Retreat offers another rhythm.
For one weekend, we step away from the demands of ordinary life and enter the quiet structure of Zen practice. Through seated and walking meditation, silence, mindful movement, shared meals, work practice, rest, and Dharma teaching, we allow the noise to settle without trying to force it away.
Stillness in Zen is not withdrawal from life. It is intimacy with life.
When we stop chasing the next moment, we begin to discover the completeness of this one. The breath, the body, the sounds around us, the people beside us—nothing needs to be added before practice can begin.
Together we will sit, walk, work, eat, rest, and practice within the steady rhythm of retreat, allowing ourselves to become quiet enough to notice what has always been here.
Whether this is your first meditation retreat or you have practiced for many years, Entering Stillness offers an opportunity to slow down, settle deeply, and return to the simplicity of practice.
