David’s Clubhouse

David’s Clubhouse

At One River Zen, our practice calls us to meet the world with open hands and hearts. To extend this spirit of compassion into the lives of children and families, we have created David’s Clubhouse—an inclusive indoor play and learning space where all children can thrive.

Housed within the new One River Zen Community Center at 110 W Jefferson Street in Ottawa, Illinois, David’s Clubhouse is designed especially to welcome autistic children and their families. It is a place where sensory needs are respected, differences are embraced, and joyful play becomes a shared expression of belonging.

David’s Clubhouse embodies our vow to practice compassion in action. Rooted in mindfulness and inclusion, it offers a safe and supportive environment that encourages connection, creativity, and growth for children of every ability. Through adaptive play, family programs, and community partnerships, we seek to nurture understanding and to build a culture where every child feels seen, valued, and free to shine.

We invite you to join us in bringing this vision to life. Together, we can build a space where kindness becomes play, and where every child knows they truly belong.

Support David’s Clubhouse at One River Zen

At One River Zen, David’s Clubhouse represents our commitment to creating spaces of belonging and joy for all children. This inclusive play and learning center—especially designed to support autistic children and their families—will soon open its doors at the new One River Zen Community Center in Ottawa.

To bring this vision fully to life, we need your support. While gifts of time, materials, and expertise are invaluable, financial contributions are essential to complete construction, acquire adaptive play equipment, and sustain ongoing programs. Your generosity helps us build a safe, welcoming environment where every child can play, belong, and grow.

Please consider making a donation today to support David’s Clubhouse. Your contribution becomes more than funding—it becomes inclusion, laughter, and the lived expression of compassion in action.
